Material Handler
Manassas is one of Catalent’s gummy technology development and manufacturing facilities in North America. The site manufactures organic and vegan-based nutraceuticals via confection to enhance wellness for all consumers. Simply put – we make healthy gummies. Within the Catalent network, we offer a broad range of integrated formulation and analytical services to solve difficult development and manufacturing challenges.
Position Summary:
The Material Handler will transport raw, in process and finished goods as required by production schedule. Ships and receives materials necessary to meet production goals and requirements. Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing product & material movements, accurately. Process daily, weekly cycle counts.
Work hours: Monday to Thursday: 3:30pm-1:30am
The Role:
Receives raw materials and supplies into warehouse with accordance to our internal receiving SOP.
Operates tier lift truck and uses electric pallet jack to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
Routes incoming shipments to appropriate departments.
Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand
Load, transport and unload materials and supplies from suppliers and vendors using forklift
Ability to safely and efficiently transport materials and product between Company sites.
Observe and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Food Safety Plan (HACCP) and Food Quality Plan (FQP).
Other duties as assigned.
The Candidate:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Must be able to read, understand, and interpret shipping documents i.e. BOL, packing list, pro-numbers.
Ability to use computer to locate, store and research inventory items.
The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 2500 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance and taste or smell.
