Catalyst Cannabis Co. is the one of the leading Southern California dispensary operators. Catalyst is based in Long Beach, CA with five open locations in the Southern California area, with more locations coming online by the end of 2021. Inventory is the backbone of our retail operations. The Inventory Specialist is responsible for overall health of inventory, driving accuracy, utilizing industry standards, following rigid compliance guidelines, best practices and inventory techniques to manage and control inventory flow. The Inventory Specialists main duties are processing and reconciling inventory, forecasting supplies and analyzing sales data to help drive purchasing decisions. This person will work directly with distribution, accounting and purchasing in ensuring accuracy of transactions in receiving, consumption and reporting of inventory transactions. The ideal candidate will have experience working with inventory and POS systems, preferably within a multi-location environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
· Intake and process inventory into METRC and POS system, including matching vendor invoices to purchase orders and METRC manifests.
· Utilize the existing inventory tracking system, as well as suggesting and working on improvements to the system, to optimize inventory control procedures.
· Forecast inventory needs to avoid inefficiencies or excessive surplus.
· Schedules, oversees and reports cycle counts of assigned inventory lots and locations, including processing and reporting of necessary adjustments
· Subject matter expert for use of internal and external facing systems; TREEZ, METRC, Excel Reports.
· Ability to follow procedures and prevent errors.
· Investigates discrepancies in inventory
· Responsible for the physical organization of inventory by ensuring material/product is in the correct location, including correct labeling and METRC tagging.
· Establishes clear and stretching goals, communicates, and actively utilizes all performance, development, and career tools to their full potential
· Responsible for ensuring that inventory organization methods like FIFO are standard practices or being implemented.
· Responsible for maintaining accuracy of expiration dates on all products in POS system.
· Responsible for ensuring that inventory tracking policies and procedures meet applicable BCC compliance requirements, including comparing POS inventory to METRC inventory and reporting and resolving any discrepancies.
· Responsible for tracking and reporting wasted, defective, and expired product, including follow up with purchasing to obtain vendor credits and with accounting to properly record shrinkage costs.
· Responsible for interfacing with purchasing and accounting to process and apply vendor credits.
· Responsible for tracking and processing vendor credits, terms, and invoice adjustments to ensure that payments to vendors are complete, timely, and accurate.
· Responsible for entering discounts and monitoring supply levels for vendor promotions and takeover days.
· Responsible for tracking and reporting unit and brand performance after promotions and takeover days.
· Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Requirements
· Work revolves around objectives, projects and priorities, not hours ; Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime as needed.
· 2-5 years related inventory control experience preferred; cannabis industry experience not required.
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Industry experience will also be taken into consideration.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
· Some lifting, squatting, bending, pushing and pulling.
· Ability to use computer and calculator for 8 hours or more.
· Must be 21 years of age or older.
· Must comply with all legal and company regulations for working in the industry
· Strong PC skills including the ability to create Excel and Google Sheets models and spreadsheet tools.
· Willingness to learn quickly and stay on task.
· Must have reliable transportation.
· Ability to multitask and time manage.
· Must be able to adapt to a changing work environment.
· Must be detail oriented and take direction well.
· Must be able to adapt between working as part of a team and independently.
· Must be reliable and dependable with a good work ethic.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
