Job Description:
 
Responsibilities:
  • Develops, executes, and maintains a comprehensive Sub-Category strategy capable of delivering best in class Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) results for assigned category at the global level.  Identifies opportunities and suppliers that can provide materials which result in a clearly identifiable advantage in functionality, price, quality, delivery, reliability, logistics, business-to-business integration, currencies, and/or reduced total landed cost.
  • Finds and develops the best all-around sub-category suppliers to meet current and future requirements: feature, functionality, volume, quality, price, terms, conditions, and delivery reliability.  Determines category Suppliers long-term partner potential, including how each party will benefit from such an arrangement.  Identifies, evaluates, and compares category Suppliers globally to assure quality, pricing, and timely supply to all company sites.
  • Works with key stakeholders, including but not limited to, supplier quality, cost and business engineering, sales and marketing, operations, and projects to clearly identify key requirements for both the Sub-Category and respective regions.
  • Continues to develop Sub-Category cost improvement strategies and targets for the specific product families within the sub-category.  Responsible for monthly performance reporting against strategies and goals.
  • Leads assigned Strategic Sourcing Projects including negotiating, establishing, and updating agreements.  Responsible for the successful execution of the assigned tasks in close cooperation with the assigned team of resources.
  • Develops, communicates, and manages specific supplier improvement initiatives, especially quality improvements, cost reductions, engineering/specification changes to the specific category items, material quality improvements, and delivery reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Drives qualification of new suppliers and requalification of existing suppliers.
  • Proposes actions and initiatives to drive improvements and qualifications that are required to support Category and Product Groups goals.

Main Tasks:

  • Leads assigned sourcing projects including identifying and assessing potential new suppliers, negotiating, establishing, and updating of supplier agreements.
  • Responsible for the successful execution of the assigned tasks in close cooperation with the assigned team of resources.
  • Leads Sub-Category Network, ensuring all Tactical resources within regional teams, are fully engaged and provides input to category strategy.
  • Acts as Champions of the Sourcing Strategy.  Constantly communicates the Sourcing Strategy to their stakeholders (design reviews, tenders, engineering).
  • Supports plans and execution of Local Content.
  • Defines capacity distribution and demand for different products / Sub-Category
  • Coordinates demand between suppliers, support tactical sourcing in execution issues.
  • Secures capacity for critical disciplines or products, at suppliers, through contracts.
  • Serves as an agent of change – driving performance through supply chain development.
  • Encourages and stimulates teamwork across all business activities through co-operation, awareness, understanding and personal involvement.  Demonstrates a “Can Do” attitude.
  • Establishes budget and Business case for Sourcing initiatives / Projects, and reports progress and status on a monthly basis.
  • Requests Technical and QHSE Audits and prepares required documentation for SRB.
  • Inputs agreement data in SAP including lead times, price agreements, stocking program, etc. 
You are meant for this job if:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent years of work experience.
  • Prefer 10 years of experience in field.
  • Industry knowledge from the Oil and Gas equipment and services area is preferred.
  • Demonstrate exceptional negotiation skills, planning skills, and strong interpersonal skills in order to interact with suppliers and co-workers in a team-based environment. 
  • Strong written and effective verbal communication skills in English.
  • Demonstrate experience with supply chain management, supplier quality systems, and awareness of industry cost drivers and implementation of sourcing strategies.
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop, improve and implement processes, policies, and procedures that impact the function.
  • Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and develop strategic implementation plans for new concepts and ideas as required by senior leaders and business objectives.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional project teams.
  • Ability to coach and mentor others.
  • Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the country, without sponsorship.
