The Resource Industry CFO Team Business Support Manager is seeking a Sr. FP&A Analyst (* *internally known as Senior Staff Accountant I ), in Irving, TX - Corporate Headquarters.

This position will offer you the opportunity to interact and present to the top senior leaders within the Resource Industry, including Group President, Group CFO, Sr. VPs, and Division CFOs regarding financial planning and analysis insights. In addition, you will have the opportunity to develop tools in a fast-paced, innovative, and growing global organization. This role will encourage you to demonstrate and develop your leadership skills, utilizing excellent communication, presentation, and financial analysis skills. As well as being a liaison with other groups throughout the enterprise in Corporate and business units. In addition, this role will be heavily involved in leading and implementing strategic finance initiatives. While this role does not have any direct reports, it does directly lead and influence decisions. This position offers a flexible working environment.
What You Will Do:
The Senior FP&A Analyst is knowledgeable on a variety of business functions. They will function as an advisor on accounting methodology and analysis issues to business unit accountants and can resolve issues independently. Incumbent can accomplish complex and/or technical analysis, but generally utilizes data gathered by others to render an accounting opinion or business decision. Incumbent will lead discussions with senior leaders on business results and financial analysis. They will demonstrate decision making skills and ownership for results.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Monthly financial reporting and analysis supporting quarterly earnings release, including presenting to senior leaders.
- Creation of monthly financial results presentation for Executive Office review.
- Financial accounting including consolidation, analysis, and communication of segment results.
- Providing guidance and expertise on business issues of global impact and/or high complexity such as financial reporting requirements for business units.
- Liaison between Corporate and the division business resource teams.
- Proactively interacting with internal customers to develop, understand and manage customer requirements and expectations.
- Integrate accountable methodology changes and reorganizations into financial reporting and analysis.
- Provide creative solutions that challenge traditional methods and processes.
- Special projects / Ad Hoc analysis as assigned.
What You Have:
- 4-year degree in accounting/finance OR any 4-year degree with an accounting certification (CPA/CMA)
- 4 years of accounting/finance/operational business experience.
- Strong financial analysis and cost accounting experience is preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling tools.
- Ability to learn quickly, adjust to change and deal with ambiguity.
Top Candidate Will Also Have:
- Experience with Hyperion, Essbase, SAP systems is a plus.
- Experience with financial analysis and forecasting with Power BI experience.
- Experience with consolidations.
- Strong analytical, process improvement and problem-solving skills.
- Proven record of strong initiative, leadership, accountability, high attention to detail and effective communication skills working with a global team.
- Self-motivated and able to consistently deliver results under strict time constrains
- Agility and interest to support various activities related to financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
