Catholic Charities of Herkimer County is currently hiring a Peer Advocate for the RISE Recovery Community Outreach Center. As the Peer Advocate, you would be responsible for utilizing professional training and lived experience to coordinate and provide peer comprehensive recovery support tasks and services, targeting individuals, families and the communities in Herkimer County. Job duties include:
· Assist in the planning, development, marketing, implementation and evaluation of peer-related services
· Obtain and retain knowledge of alcohol and substance abuse, trauma informed care, family systems and recovery community
· Engage and empower individuals to obtain and maintain sobriety
· Help individuals develop, maintain and self-monitor recovery plans
· Refer and help individuals and families navigate treatment options and other community resources
· Provide substance abuse intervention services utilizing evidence-based practices and programs
· Maintain necessary reporting requirements, statistical reports and program evaluations
Minimum Salary: $29,000 annually
Maximum Salary: $30,050 annually
Schedule: Monday - Friday, with hours ranging between 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma/Equivalency Diploma
· Minimum one year of experience working in the field of substance abuse prevention/treatment/recovery or similar human service field
· Strong presentation, organizational and public speaking skills
· Have or be willing to obtain NYS Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA)
· Valid NYS Driver’s License
