What are the responsibilities and job description for the PROGRAM SUPERVISOR (Fulton & Washington Counties) position at Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Albany?
Community Maternity Services is expanding services after receiving a Healthy Families grant through the Office of Children and Family Services. This is a full-time position (35 hours per week). The Program Supervisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Data management;
- Hiring, orienting and training staff;
- Conducting Family Assessments and Home Visits as necessary;
- Participating in assessing families’ risk factors and stressors based on conducted surveys;
- Providing supervision, training and professional development opportunities for staff;
- Scheduling and attending outreach events and meetings; and
- Completing all reporting requirements for Healthy Families.
- Carrying a small caseload providing Family Support Services/Family Resource Services to families in Fulton County.
A Master’s degree in Human Services or fields related to working with children and families is preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in one of the above fields combined with three years of relevant work experience is required. The ideal candidate will have experience supervising and motivating staff, as well as providing support to staff in stressful work environments; knowledge of child development; and knowledge of parent-child attachment. Experience in providing home visiting services focused on culturally diverse families and communities using a strength based approach is required. Infant mental health endorsement is preferred, as well as experience in child welfare. Other requirements include:
- A valid NYS driver’s license
- An automobile in good working order, validly registered/insured in NYS; and
- Travel in and around Fulton/Washington Counties with occasional travel to Albany County.
