What you will do:
- Supervise a number of Senior Dining / Meals on Wheels locations over the central MN area.
- Direct and monitor dining site staff to provide Congregate and Meals on Wheels services under the Central Minnesota Council on Aging contract guidelines, MN Department of Health regulations and Catholic Charities Senior Dining policies and procedures.
What we need from you:
- Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in one of the following areas: Psychology, Gerontology, Food Service, Management, Social Work, Business or Human Services (required)
- Three years management or supervisory experience in the areas of Human Services, Social Services, Business or Food Service (required)
- Minnesota Driver’s license and personal auto insurance (must meet state minimum)
- Food Manager Certificate (or ability to obtain within the first 6 months of hire)
- Experience working with older adults (preferred)
- One year experience in food service operation (preferred)
- Excellent supervisory skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities and effective interpersonal skills
Responsibilities Include:
- Personnel/Supervision: provide leadership/direction to all assigned program site staff (regular paid staff & auxiliary staff), including hiring, staff onboarding/development, Safety/risk management, & ongoing goal setting for staff.
- Program Management: provides recommendations on annual contract proposal; assists in implementation and achievement of goals/objectives of program; evaluates and makes recommendations regarding program effectiveness & efficiencies including site labor needs; monitor diner attendance & problem solve any attendance issues; responsible for written communications/documentations regarding operations of program & leadership of staff; directs the implementation of the National Aging Program Information System (NAPIS) requirements at dining sites.
- Food Service Management: Evaluates equipment needs and equipment repair. a.) Monitors activity, provides on-going training & institutes operations modifications as necessary as regards food preparation, portion control, food quality, food service products, food safety and sanitation and kitchen workflow efficiency, b.) Reviews food service records: temperatures, equipment cleaning schedules, registration of meals, program comment sheets, raw food costs, Meals on wheels assessments, health department inspections and contract regulations and makes program/site modifications as necessary.
- Records and Reports: Compiles data from miscellaneous sources for quarterly reports & prepares reports; completes annual and periodic Senior Dining Site assessments; monitors the program registration, monthly activity rosters and yearly updates, and troubles shoots any identified issues.
- Support Services: Monitors support service activities such as outreach, transportation, volunteers, public relations, health and wellness, and information and referral.
- Site Councils/Staff meetings: prepare meeting agendas; facilitate meetings, assist site councils in planning annual goals and monitors the achievement; resolve site issues/concern; coordinate with site council and staff to secure site funds through volunteer fundraising events.
- Professional Development: stay knowledgeable in Senior issues by participating in local networks in the field; and participating in self-identified workshops.
