Responsibilities:
- Assist in supporting the Delegated Credentialing Manager
- Perform clerical work involving a degree of independent judgment and requiring speed and accuracy
- Review Credentialing Files
- Scan and update documents into Cactus
- Update NPDB queries on a monthly basis
- Establish and maintain cooperative working and relationships with practitioner’s office, Department Chairs and hospitals
- Running Cactus reports on a regular basis for data accuracy and updates
- Remove, log in, and send all resignation files to Iron Mountain on a monthly basis
- With appropriate training, accepts additional related duties, as needed
- Devotes attention and resources to provide the best customer service possible
- Assist the Central Credentialing Office with special projects when needed
- Provide back up support for other assistants and Director when required
- Participates in Joint Commission preparation and NYS DOH Surveys
- Adhere to CHS Central Credentialing / Department policies and procedures NCQA, CMS and Joint Commission/regulatory agency requirements.
- Demonstrate and promote service excellence at all times.
- Participate in education programs, in-service meetings, workshops, conferences, and committees
- Keep abreast of current literature and professional trends
- Review and understand the Medical Staff Bylaws of each CHS Facility
- Review and understand the Joint Commission Standards
- Review and understand the NCQA Standards
Qualifications:
- Delegated Credentialing and medical staff services experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
- Able to prioritize, multi-task and have good listening, written and oral skills.
- Excellent customer service, oral/written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are necessary.
- Advanced knowledge of Word & Excel is necessary.
- Knowledge of Cactus Credentialing system is a must but not necessary.
- Knowledge or experience with credentialing processes desirable.
