What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Accountant - Team Leader position at Cattron?
Summary: The Team Leader supervises a team of 3-4 people. Reviewing the daily work tasks of the team members to ensure they are completed in a timely manner; supporting the manager related to communication with site Finance and other functions, identifying issues and providing resolution.
The Team Leader is also responsible for the more challenging sites/work tasks with minimal supervision. The Team Leader supports the manager in defining process flows and procedures contributes with ideas to improve work efficiency, and implements changes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and distribute work within the team under leadership from the manager
- Reduces past-due receivables balance. With AR administrator, review outstanding invoices and organize collection activities, identify issues, and provide resolution
- Support the team with all daily questions and escalate them to the manager
- Provide detailed goals and objectives for staff and monitor performance based on defined schedules and timelines
- Use a broad knowledge of accounting practices and principles to provide accounting information to the team.
- Analyze data and prepare financial measurements.
- Maintains general ledger chart of accounts and accounting tables within the financial system
- Responsible for control of data accuracy of daily transactions, including some data sign-off.
- Responsible for inventory reporting and reconciliation of stock status.
- Assign limits and terms to new orders or new customers using credit checks, history, references, and discussion with sales organization
- Maintain current information on customer master files such as; holds, terms, and credit ratings
- Participate in monthly financial closings.
- Work on continuous improvement programs to standardize and improve efficiency.
- Support the manager with all internal and external financial audit requirements.
- Support questions and requirements from business teams.
- Perform other duties as requested which can include project work.
REQUIREMENTS
- Self-Starter
- Good PC skills, especially MS Excel
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Strong organizational skills
- Attention to detail, and strong problem solution skills
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelors degree in accounting required
- Significant experience in working with AR, AP, or GL modules
- Experience working with ERP system
- 4 years experience in public or private accounting
