Plant Manager:
Oversee all operations of the Verona, VA food manufacturing facility. Manage people, resources, expenses, processes, productivity, safety and continuous improvement of the manufacturing plant and distribution facility, while adhering to Food Safety and Quality requirements and providing superior customer satisfaction.
What You’ll Do:
- Direct operations and maintain accountability for production costs, labor utilization, product yield, and facility upkeep.
- Select, train, develop, lead and inspire team members to ensure high employee engagement and maintain and grow plant operations.
- Create and manage budgets to effectively allocate resources and align with the company’s key initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to the Company’s Food Safety requirements and Good Manufacturing Practices, including audit targets.
- Set production and processing goals for plant.
- Continuously improve operating costs.
- Develop, recommend, and implement Capital Improvement for facility, including the preparation and execution of a Capital budget.
The Qualifications:
- Minimum completed Bachelor's Degree, preferably in the field of Engineering, Food Science, Business, or Supply Chain
- Minimum 7 years of manufacturing operations knowledge required, 2 or more years in food/Beverage or CPG manufacturing, similar FDA regulated environments considered
- Minimum 2 years' experience in execution of or leadership of production operations or operational planning
- Results-oriented, thrives in a fast paced, demanding food industry environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills which emphasizes teamwork and strong quality orientation
- Strong team player with minimum of 5 years of experience in leading, challenging, motivating, and developing a diverse team of salaried and hourly contributors
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and leadership skills, the ability to influence and build strong relationships within a collaborative and cross functional environment
- Demonstrated experience championing continuous improvement tools and principles
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Business Central or other ERP software, Intermediate knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot equipment issues and help manage maintenance team a plus experience creating and managing budgets to align with company directives
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to maintain work and lead individuals in a variety of operating environments, from conference room to the manufacturing floor.
- Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details
- Able to occasionally move or transport items up to 50 pounds
- Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively
- Constantly positions self and moves about to support food production support or office operations, as applicable
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
