Accountant

CA Ventures is recruiting for an Accountant to join the team at our Chicago Headquarters.  As Corporate Accountant, you will join a team to ensure the application of principles of accounting to record and analyze financial information and prepare financial reports for the senior living operating and investment companies.   Your Mission Assist in the month end closing and financial reporting process including account analysis and reconciliation Complete and review monthly bank reconciliations Prepare monthly consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, ensuring all balances are properly stated and supporting schedules are accurate and complete, including: general ledger review monthly journal entries consolidation worksheet balance sheet account reconciliations  P&L account schedules  variance analysis; Assist with preparation of corporate operating budgets and weekly/monthly/annual forecasts Assist with regular update of 5-year business model Coordinate with internal and third-party colleagues (development accountants, project managers, auditors, attorneys, bankers, property managers, etc.) to ensure timely and accurate information flow, reporting and issue resolution Prepare support schedules to assist with U.S. GAAP audit, U.S. tax return preparation/filing, and other compliance reports as required Input of A/P coding and descriptions on invoices and expense reports Prepare investor communications including capital call and distribution notices Prepare due from affiliates invoicing Review and approve employee expense reports for appropriate g/l coding Other duties as assigned   Your Track Record Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA or CPA candidate preferred 1-2 years of experience in real estate industry Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word Yardi Voyager experience preferred   Your Style Ability to work with minimum supervision while understanding the necessity of clear communication and coordination Positive, cooperative attitude Strong analytical skills and problem solving ability Attention to detail Ability to work well under pressure and within tight deadlines Must be a results-driven team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills
