The Histology Technician in the pathology department is an assistant to the Pathologists and is responsible for prompt and accurate accessioning, cutting, embedding, coverslipping and staining of surgical specimens. The position is also responsible for special stains, frozen sections, cell blocks, decalcification, and filing slides, all required computer entries, reports, and records are done and discrepancies are brought to the attention of the Laboratory Pathologists.
