About the Department:
Cayuga Center’s Human Resources Department has 5 HR Professionals, including recruiters, benefits administrators, specialists, generalists, and assistants based in New York City, Florida, and Auburn, NY.
Cayuga Centers seeks a dedicated individual to take on the position of Director of Human Resources in Auburn, NY. Under the supervision of the Deputy for Human Resources, the Director for Human Resources will support the HR team based in Auburn, NY. The director must possess a growth mindset, be a quick study, and learn about our child services programs in the eight states and 22 cities across the United States. To succeed as an HR leader at Cayuga Centers, the Director must be a strong technical expert in Human Resources and develop and maintain partnership and team connectedness across the organization. This makes a difference because the communities we serve receive higher quality services when our workforce is strong, steady, and supported.
How you get to use your skills…
- Cayuga Centers operates in approximately eight states and twenty cities; the HR Director must learn our child services programming and develop a strong partnership with the program Deputies, the Leadership Council, the Associate CEO, and President/CEO
- Oversee the daily operations of the HR team based in Auburn, partnering with the Deputy of Human Resources based in NYC
- Administer, update, develop, and communicate personnel policies and procedures to staff, ensuring that staff understands best practices for progressive discipline, leave management, benefits and training
- Lead, coach and mentor HR Generalists based in Auburn and provide support to the HR team members in other subunits
- Oversee and manage employee relations, liaising with Upstate New York, Delaware, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Chicago, Los Angeles and Baltimore
- Conduct new-employee orientations; monitor career-path program and employee relations counseling
- Ensure the agency complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, anticipating legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions
- Assist with maintenance and work with the team to update Employee Handbook and Standard Operating Procedures, partnering with the CQI and Compliance team
- Serve as a liaison and provide employee relations advice and counseling to management and employees
- Provide training to other department directors and supervisors in the areas of hiring, firing, documentation, evaluations, privacy, FMLA, PFL, workplace safety, harassment, discrimination, and workplace violence
- Conduct regular follow-up with Assistant Director of Talent Acquisition to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation
- Guardian and executor of agency competencies, lives out our agency competencies
- Responsible for complying with rules and regulations governing access to Protected Health Information under HIPAA. Access protected Health Information is limited to the extent required to perform responsibilities herein, dictate the level of access, use, and disclosure of confidential information
- Perform other duties as requested by your immediate supervisor or the agency’s C-Suite
Schedule: Exempt
- Regular hours entail 9:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday
- Must be flexible to meet program needs
- Will travel outside regular work hours
- Hybrid - Eligible for one remote day after 90 days of employment
