Pay: $58,458 - $62,400 (Based on location)

Cayuga Centers is committed to providing our staff with the safest possible work environment. The Safety Manager is responsible for assisting in the management of vehicle, physical plant, and employee safety, Accidents reports, Vehicles claims/services, Cayuga Centers property inspection, research and development of new Wellness initiatives to benefit each employee, and assists in other COVID-19 related activities. The Safety Manager enhances the incident management processes concerning incidents involving Cayuga Centers’ clients and staff members. In collaboration with program Staff, Managers, and Directors, the Safety Manager will analyze incident reports, provide feedback, and work cohesively with programs to improve incident reporting systems. The Safety Manager will ensure that proper procedures are adhered to in all daily incident practices and that the notion of "do no harm" is cultivated across programs.
The Incidents and Investigation Department will:

Work with the Assistant Vice President of Incidents and Investigations, their supervisor, and all departments to ensure everyone understands and meets the compliance requirements.

Partner with departments and programs to make improvement a shared responsibility.

Collaborate with our other departments to ensure the long-term sustainability of an organizational culture that reflects the agency's mission, vision, and values.

Identify potential opportunities and risks within the organization and its environment to protect the agency’s business interests and strategic goals.

Represent Cayuga Centers in the community and with internal and external stakeholders in a manner that strengthens the organization’s brand and aligns with the mission, vision, and values.

How you get to use your skills…

Lead the Safety Committee and create the agenda for the monthly Safety Committee meetings, and facilitate follow-up recommendations to program for response

File workplace accident reports

Investigate accidents/incidents and work with insurance carrier and program to close claims and facilitate necessary repairs

Conduct walk-through inspections of Cayuga Centers property
-
Coordinate with Personnel from Operations, Buildings & Maintenance, Youth Support Services Department (YSSD) Departments, and any other Departments upon request for Vehicle Accident information

Monitor the servicing of vehicles in the Cayuga Centers’ fleet

Monitor agency vehicle safety and Geotab reporting

Coordinate with the Assistant Vice President of Operations, on safety procedures such as fire drills

Review staff’s compliance with oversight and state regulations and through departmental collaboration, report on findings to improve processes and functions in efforts to ensure overall safety.

Research and development for new Safety Initiatives

Ensure the agency safety process is in compliance with regulations and ensure appropriate follow-up
-
Update the agency's Emergency Preparedness plans.

Develop a reporting system to identify trends, and training needs and develop training with program leadership.

Responsible for presenting reports to the leadership members and CQI Department
Schedule:

Regular hours entail 9:00 am - 5:00 pm or 8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday

Must be flexible to meet program needs

Travel outside of work hours may be required
