The Senior Analyst will work with a multi-disciplinary team of other analysts in performing review and analysis of Medicaid data to identify trends, issues and compliance with Medicaid contracts, policy, and other applicable laws. The positon will prepare written documents supporting professional decisions and will perform other types of reviews involving health care data. The Staff Senior Analyst will also collaborate and coordinate with state Medicaid agency clients, Medicaid Managed Care Organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of quality engagement deliverables.
Essential Functions:
- Develop processes to combine and utilize information and data from various sources for analysis, problem solving, and reporting
- Utilize software tools and/or computer programming language to develop processes to extract/scrape data from different sources and formats, clean and condition data, transform data, and merge multiple different data sources
- Use manage care reporting and analytical tools to identify and assess trends, issues and policy questions.
- Prepare ad-hoc reports and business intelligence dashboards according to client and business needs
- Conduct research in order to determine health plan compliance with relevant Medicaid or other government program regulations
- Conduct all phases of data audits as needed including planning and research, risk assessment, fieldwork, reporting of findings, and other procedures as required
- Review applicable Federal and State policies and regulations associated with each specific audit type prior to performing the audit
- Prepare working papers to document scope and findings of audit in accordance with Medicaid or other government program regulations and AICPA standards
- Effectively communicate with team, subcontractors, clients and other stakeholders to ensure that engagement deliverables are successfully met.
- Demonstrate excellence in communication skills, data gathering, analysis, reporting, and process improvement
- Maintain security and confidentiality of all protected health information when analyzing material
- Maintain thorough electronic documentation
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in data analytics, data science, statistics, accounting, finance, health policy or related field required; Master's degree in data analytics, data science, statistics, accounting, finance, health policy or related field preferred
- Experience working in a strong analytical role preferred
- Experience with health care auditing and data analysis preferred
- Ability to closely read and comprehend complex textual material (e.g. review of statutory/regulatory or other policy language and application of requirements to analysis)
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Well organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Effectively multi-task with planning and efficiency
