ABOUT THE ROLE:
As the Payroll Tax Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring payroll tax accuracy and maintaining compliance with payroll tax regulations. You'll lead and develop a team of payroll tax specialists. Your team maintains strong internal and external client relationships by addressing questions and escalations with accuracy, a sense of urgency, and professionalism.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Manage and ensure on-time execution of tax responsibilities and project goals and timelines.
- Coordinate with key business partners to review and monitor cross-departmental process impact.
- Review and analyze payroll tax procedures; apply continuous improvement methods to streamline processes and mitigate risk.
- Lead, hire, train, and develop payroll tax specialists.
- Run and report on key performance indicators and metrics.
- Develop staffing plans and establish work schedules; prioritize team workload to maintain service levels.
- Work with federal and state tax agencies, and third parties to resolve concerns.
- Lead all aspects of internal and external compliance requirements, regulations, and confidentiality provisions for the payroll team.
- Act as the subject matter authority/resource for the tax team and external clients.
- Assure all client associated Federal, State and Local payroll tax liabilities and associated regulatory tax filings are completed with 100% accuracy and on time.
- Maintain ongoing client accounting reporting related to client funding for payroll tax liabilities.
- Establish positive relationships with 3rd party payroll tax system provider.
- Actively participate with the management team in cross-functional business improvement initiatives.
