iHeartMedia Job Summary: About the Team The Business Affairs team is the heart and pulse of IHeartMedia. We help lead new and innovative forms of entertainment, spanning across multiple divisions throughout iHeartMedia’s media business, handling transaction and contract management for its podcast business, live national events, content production, programming, digital, media sales and marketing solutions efforts. We are looking for a dynamic partner to serve as a key member of our team in a critical support role within a fast-paced, quickly-evolving work environment. This role will assist and help lead initiatives for the Business Affairs team, particularly in regard to podcasts, live event and video production, legal processes, rights & clearances, and administrative functions. The scope of work will include: Being the nexus between podcast and business affairs workflow, including option tracking and rights management, including following up with appropriate contacts to retrieve necessary information to complete open-ended terms. Analyze agreements and other relevant documents to track pertinent deal terms across iHeartMedia. Extensive data capture and the administration of departmental applications (Wrike, AirTable and Salesforce) for contract terms, dates and contacts for talent, production, and license deals. Verify third party rights, options, and general contract interpretation. Managing a high volume of administrative, research and legal duties. Manage and maintain contract databases. Assisting with business affairs on projects in development and in active production. Coordinating and tracking the status of projects, agreements, and status reports as well as other contract management responsibilities. Organizing and maintaining all legal files. Setting up new projects (templates, processes, insurance, etc.). Drafting form agreements and legal correspondence. Acting as a liaison between production teams and rights & clearances stakeholders regarding releases and various production agreements. Communicating regularly with outside legal counsel as well as internal and external executives. Assisting with special projects and other duties as required. Qualifications: 5 years of experience as a Paralegal/Legal Administrator/Legal Assistant in a corporate legal department, law firm, studio, or production company. Working knowledge/experience in Entertainment (Production Company, Live Events, Studios, etc.) Experience with rights tracking databases and associated reporting tools Ability and interest to work closely with business, programming, legal, and finance teams to support needs of iHeart in a timely and efficient manner Ability and interest to organize precedent databases and work with attorneys to create and/or update from templates. Ability and interest to conduct and assist with rights inquiries, research, and audits as necessary Possesses a general understanding of contracts with the ability to draft contract language and integrate business issues into form contracts Strong PC/Word Processing skills including MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel; ability to work with Workshare would be a plus Able to prioritize and desire to thrive in a high volume and fast-paced working environment Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and written and verbal communications skills (including spelling and grammar) Self-motivated, proactive and detail-oriented.
