What are the responsibilities and job description for the System Admin I - IT position at CCC Brand?

Central City Concern is an innovative nonprofit agency providing comprehensive services to single adults and families in the Portland metro area who are impacted by homelessness, poverty and addictions. We hire people that are skilled and passionate to meet our mission to end homelessness through outcome-based strategies which support personal and community transformation.

This role will be the primary administrator for at least one system and a backup administrator for other systems which include, but are not limited to, all hardware, software, cloud services, etc. required to provide function to CCC (e.g., phone systems, ticketing system, backup system). Systems Administrators will work closely with the Service Desk to communicate system changes and coach/mentor members of the Service Desk team. System Administrator I will actively look for opportunities to refresh and update their assigned systems and keep Central City’s IT systems current with industry standards.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deploying, maintaining, and retiring on premises servers
  • Configuring, integrating, maintaining, and retiring cloud services
  • Maintain vendor relationships
  • Participate in projects to implement, upgrade, or improve IT systems
  • Assist other members of IT on projects
  • Proactively monitor for problems
  • Create and maintain documentation for troubleshooting, maintenance, and system changes
  • Keep current on applicable technology and participate in trainings for supported products
  • Adhere to change management process
  • Coordinate with other IT teams for support and project work
  • Participate in the On-Call rotation
  • Identify, suggest, and implement system improvements and automations
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and other applicable laws
  • Assist Service Desk during request surges
  • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Ability to learn new technologies and concepts quickly
  • Detail oriented and capable of exploring innovative solutions to solve complex problems and address issues through the use of technology
  • Able to demonstrate high degree of independence, initiative, and organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - able to communicate with a diverse population in a consistently informative, confident, respectful, and professional manner
  • Demonstratives excellent interpersonal skills. Approachable with effective consensus building skills

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field required
    • or Associate Degree in related field with 1-year recent service desk experience
    • or 1-year college certificate in related field and 2 years recent service desk experience
    • or 3 years service desk experience
  • Working experience required with one or more the following technologies: Windows Server 2016 or 2019, Microsoft Terminal Servers, Mitel, Meraki, VMWare, Mimecast, Citrix, Office 365, Azure, etc.
  • Must be physically able to walk and climb stairs several times a day
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, TB test, and background check
  • Must be able to work within an integrated, multidisciplinary setting
  • Must adhere to agency’s non-discrimination policies
  • Ability to effectively interact with co-workers and clients with diverse ethnic backgrounds, religious views, political affiliation, cultural backgrounds, lifestyles, and sexual orientations, and treat each individual with respect and dignity
