As a Mortgage Loan Processor, you will analyze and process mortgage loan transactions. The position is primarily responsible for ensuring the delivery of the highest level of service to internal customers while maintaining an adherence to bank, state and federal policies. You will also gain knowledge of bank products and services to ensure an exceptional customer experience daily.
The ideal candidate is a collaborator who works well in a team environment and can communicate with colleagues from various departments. Bonus points if you’re community focused and excited about making a positive difference for those around you.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepares all documents needed to close a loan, reviews all documentation ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory agency, and bank policy requirements.
- Perform employment verifications/income/asset verifications to ensure the accuracy of loan file documentation.
- Maintain a close working relationship and regularly correspond with lenders, title companies, contractors, builders, appraisers, real estate agents and other real estate industry professionals
- Obtain, review, verify and submit to underwriting all file documentation including signed disclosures, borrower documentation received (income/asset docs, homeowner’s insurance, tax returns) and 3rd party documentation (appraisals, title work, flood etc.) for completeness and accuracy.
- Balance appraisal, flood and secondary income general ledgers for month end as assigned
- Review underwriting approval and communicate with the lender and borrower conditions needed for final underwriting approval.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field.
- Substitution: Two (2) years of directly related full time experience performing the essential functions outlined above may be considered in lieu of the degree.
- Two (2) years of experience in the financial services industry.
- Two (2) years of experience working in loan processing or customer service.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field.
