Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Valid Indiana Driver's License
• Exceptional Customer Service and Professional Skills
• Good Organizational Telephone Skills, and Communication Skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Able to work with Cats & Dogs
• Basic Computer Skills
• Affection for animals, concern for their welfare, and willingness to accommodate animals in the workplace.
• Ability and initiative to work with minimal supervision and direction
• Maturity, good judgement, and professional personal appearance
• Team player

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Daily thorough cleaning of all animals areas, including inside/outside runs, cat areas, floors, dishes, bedding, etc.
• Spot cleaning of animals and public areas throughout the day
• Feeding the animals, including providing special diets as needed
• Monitoring the health of the animals on an ongoing basis rapidly identifying any health problems or conditions (medical or behavioral) and immediately reporting it to the Shelter Manager
• Medicating animals as directed
• Socializing and grooming the animals
• Assessing the temperament of the animals to facilitate finding the best possible placement for each individual animal
• Doing laundry, dishes, washing windows, cleaning, and mopping public areas as needed
• Proving a healthy, safe, clean, and pleasant environment and facilities for the animals and the public
• Providing transportation for the animals as needed, to and from vet appointments, for adoption events, to other shelters, etc.
• Promoting a humane and caring attitude towards all animals
• Treating all animals humanely, properly, and with compassion, regardless of the situation or circumstance
• Maintaining a friendly demeanor and providing good customer service while assisting with all incoming and outgoing claims transactions
• Working courteously and cooperatively with other staff members
• Unpacking, labeling, and stocking of shelter supplies and donations
• Answering phones professionally and with knowledge needed to answer any questions
• Accept adoption monies and complete pet information
• Provide all customers with financial receipt and pet information
• Perform other duties as directed by supervisor

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: From $10.00 per hour

• 4-8 hour shifts
• Day shift
• Afternoon shift
• Weekends
