CDL Electric Company, Inc. is looking for a motivated Railroad Signal Maintainer for the Madison, Wisconsin area. This position is responsible for working by his or herself. This individual will need to have self-discipline to stay safe and focused while working on the railroad. This position will be primarily assigned to one location but some travel will be expected.
The Railroad Signal Maintainer is responsible for repair, inspection and maintenance of Highway Grade Crossing warning and train control devices located along the Railroad system. The position requires documenting and reporting of work and inspections in accordance with Railroad, State DOT, and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) requirements. Signal Experience required.
List of Signal Maintainer qualifications:
- Journeyman electrician qualifications or completion of 2-3 years electrical apprenticeship preferred.
- Pass pre-employment hair follicle drug screen and background check. Ongoing drug and alcohol screening will be required by federal regulatory agencies.
- Preferred: Previous experience repairing and troubleshooting switch machines, electric lock mechanisms, ATS inductors, coded track circuits, event recorders, testing relays, interlocking plants, ABS and CTC signal systems.
- Preferred: 1-2 years' railroad maintenance and signal crew experience on a construction crew of which at least six months must be in relief maintenance activities.
