Job Description:

CDM Smith has an exciting opportunity for a Client Service Leader to lead client engagement and business development activities for Superfund and other environmental programs with US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) clients as well as environmental programs with other Civilian Agencies on the East Coast. In this position, you will pursue and win new business development opportunities, conduct strategic business planning activities, and lead proposal development activities. CDM Smith has been providing services to the EPA and others in the environmental remediation market for over 35 years.

As a member of this team, you would contribute to CDM Smith's mission by:

Proactively assuming responsibility for new business development activities

Having an established business network - potential clients and teaming partners

Developing new client contacts

Conducting Strategic New Business Planning (Annual Sales Plan, Capture Plans, Client Account Plans)

Developing Branding Plans directed at unit's strategic clients

Providing strategic teaming/joint venture arrangements

Developing and managing proposal efforts and presentations

Implementing CDM Smiths Sales Delivery Process and proactive use of CDM Smiths sales tools

Delivery tasks such as program and project management may be assigned,

Meeting annual sales goals from both existing and new clients

Managing business development budgets and costs

Managing and communicating potential sales risk (including communication with risk management committee)

Negotiating critical issues with clients and potential teaming partners and subconsultants

Aligning CDM Smiths firm-wide strategies with other business development activities

Keeping abreast of new Federal environmental initiatives, funding issues and organizational changes

Engaging in routine coordination with other area client service leaders and internal business units to meet business objectives

Contributing to firm's stature by actively participating in leadership roles in professional societies

Following and implementing CDM Smiths standardized business practices

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree.

15 years of related experience.

Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

Registration as Professional Engineer in the state in which=your assigned office is located is required for engineering backgrounds or Certification and/or Masters degree in specialty field required for scientist backgrounds (where one exists)

Strong client relationships with US EPA Agency or other Civilian Agency clients

Strong interpersonal, time management, organization, business acumen and listening skills

Experience in Business Development for EPA/Civilian Agency projects including proposal development

Ability to work within a large organization to leverage firms qualifications for the Federal Client

Previous experience working with the EPA Superfund program

Masters degree
