What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Interpreter position at CDR Maguire?
The community needs your help! CDR Health Inc., is seeking Medical Interpreters within the Miami Dade County, FL area for Spanish, Creole, and/or Mandarin. This role will be responsible for providing medical interpretation for Patients, Healthcare Providers, and Staff members; in person at the site location.
Essential Functions:
- Facilitate effective communication between individuals with limited English proficiency (LEP), service providers, and staff.
- Remain sensitive to cultures associated with the languages of expertise.
- Provide sight translation of documents as required.
- Adhere to interpreter standards of practice and code of ethics.
- Provide education to individuals and providers/staff on culturally specific values, beliefs, and practices that are relevant to the encounter.
- Relay concepts and ideas between languages.
- Thoroughly understand medical terminology and other subject matters to effectively convert source language to target language.
Requirements
- Fluency: An interpreter must have native-level proficiency in English and one other language (Spanish, Creole, and/or Mandarin).
- Must possess high verbal and written skills in both English and target language.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
- Completion of a formal certification or education program for Medical Interpreters (Highly preferred)
Schedule:
- Day Shift (9:00 am to 5:00 pm)
- Open Monday to Sunday
