A Games Associate promotes and sells the games to the guests, assists the guests in the operation of various games and arcades, including collecting payment, explaining rules, and distribution of prizes.
- Explain and demonstrate games to guests, explain game cards to the guests, provide change if necessary (while identifying counterfeit currency), record game sales by swiping game card, and provide guests with game implements (i.e. bean bags or balls).
- Determines winners, verifies wins on selected games and report the win to Games Control, and distribute prizes.
- Acknowledge winners by blowing whistles that have been provided.
- Attracts guests to games by using voice, public address system when provided, and attractive prize displays.
- Accepts payment for game play using card payment system; uses Point of Sales system (touch screen and scanner for the computer system) to record point redemption for prizes while working the redemption counter.
- Oversees the use of equipment by guests to prevent players from interfering with each other or misuse.
- Cleans game booth on the daily basis, keeps equipment in good condition; receives, stores, and displays prizes.
- Maintains appropriate levels of stock; move and organize stock in stockrooms.
- Engages in observational loss prevention practices (i.e. observes surrounding area for possible theft of prizes and guests property and checks for counterfeit currency).
- Reports any concerns or unusual situations to the area Team Leader immediately; assist Team Leader with any other tasks.
- Ability to handle money and give correct change in U.S. currency without the use of electronic equipment, such as a cash register or calculator.
- Ability to interact with guests in a professional and energetic manner in order to promote game play, explain game rules, and game card system.
- Ability to verbally communicate in English on a microphone system.
- Ability to speak in front of large groups.
- Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
- Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.
