Cedar Lake is the region’s largest private, non-profit care provider for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Cedar Lake incorporated in 1970 out of common concern for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and the lack of adequate residential facilities within our geographic area.

At Cedar Lake, we focus on two main objectives: to offer compassionate, capable care for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and to create meaningful interactions between the people we support and those in the community without disabilities.
Cedar Lake operates in Jefferson, Oldham and Henry counties, has 38 properties, and support 260 people with a staff of 460. An array of residential options and support services are offered from 24/7 support for the most medically fragile, to intermittent support for those who live independently.
Please note that Cedar Lake Lodge, Park Place, and Sycamore Run are Intermediate Care Facilities, placing us under the “CMS Omnibus COVID-19 Health Care Staff Vaccination Interim Rule.” Under this rule, by January 27, 2022 employees must have received their first dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine or a one-dose COVID-19 vaccine prior to providing any care, treatment or other services to the individuals we support. Job Skills / Requirements
To provide each resident with continuous, holistic nursing which includes emotional, spiritual, physical and safety aspects, and healthcare services by administering treatments, medication, etc., as prescribed by the physician. Initiate and follow preventative measurements to protect residents from undue injury, illness or trauma with the goal of developing, maintaining, and improving the residents physical well-being which will enable them to reach the highest possible degree of wellness.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- To participate in the resident's individual program plan and ensure the health services aspects of that plan.
- To assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the resident's treatment plan.
- To observe, record, and report findings to the appropriate person, and to perform routine nursing duties including but not limited to giving medications and treatments, taking vital signs, monitoring blood sugars, and urine testing.
- Assist with all aspect for residents care, and training.
- Assist accompany residents to the doctor or hospital, as needed.
- Actively communicating member of the Health Services team.
- To administer basic first aid and/or CPR in an emergency situation.
- To write monthly nursing summary and assessment in the resident's care plan. [less]
Education Requirements (Any)
- Graduate of a state-approved school of nursing.
Certification Requirements (Any)
- Valid state of KY LPN or RN license
- Valid KY Driver license
