Executive Director
SUMMARY:
We are looking for a strong leader, hardworking, self-starter Executive Director to join our team to help take our organization’s growth and management to the next level.

The Executive Director will be a community advocate, fostering the expansion of Cedar Valley Angels’ programs and forging pivotal partnerships. The board is pursuing an individual deeply devoted to the community and the mission at hand. We seek an Executive Director who will work collaboratively with the board of directors to implement a strategic plan and fulfill Cedar Valley Angels’ mission.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Overseeing and managing staffing alongside the Assistant Director
- Lead fundraising efforts
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and donors
- Create an annual strategic plan and budget (with Board and staffing departments)
- Work collaboratively with National Angels Leadership Team and attend monthly leadership calls
- Plan, develop, and execute strategies to obtain support for Cedar Valley Angels ongoing and long-term financial and program needs
- Responsible for planning donor-cultivation, stewardship, and events
- Help to create and execute fundraising priorities
- Work closely with, engage, and build the Board of Directors
- Create and execute a comprehensive plan to increase philanthropy at Cedar Valley Angels (Plan and implement annual fundraising campaigns including soliciting gifts, recruiting and maintains a portfolio of major donors for cultivation, solicitation and stewardship for annual, program gifts)
- Responsible for hiring and the retention of competent and qualified staff alongside the Assistant Director
- Responsible for signing all agreements, notes, and contacts made and entered into on behalf of the organization
- Serve as Regional Chapters primary spokesperson to the organization constituents, media, and general public
- Establish and maintain relationships with local organizations and utilize those relationships to strategically enhance the Regional Chapters mission
- Oversee marketing and communication efforts
REQUIRED:
- Personal telephone (and possibly conferencing capabilities)
- Access to reliable transportation, valid driver license, insurance
- Ability to pass state and federal background checks
- New hires will complete a training and on-boarding process with the National Angels in Austin, TX. This and other opportunities will require occasional travel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5 years’ experience in an organizational leadership role, preferably managing a team, recruiting and onboarding, fundraising and employee relations
- Bachelor’s degree or additional 2 years relevant experience
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Experience with general technology including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive/Google Suite, and Mailchimp
- Great attention to detail (nothing gets past you)
- Be highly organized, a self-starter, detail-oriented and have excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- You are hungry, humble, and smart and always willing to go the extra mile
- Ability to work independently and with a team
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Strong communication skills, including ability to write and speak persuasively about our mission and our programs
- Willingness to work some evenings and weekends, to travel, and must have a valid drivers license
- Demonstrated knowledge of planned giving, preferred but not required
- Demonstrated success in soliciting and closing gifts from individuals and experience running an annual fund highly preferred

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
- Job Type: Full Time (40 hours per week).
- Compensation: $56,000-$62,000 plus $6,365 benefits stipend ($62,365 - $68,365 total). Based on experience and prorated for part time employment. Mileage is also reimbursed at $0.65/mile.
- Other Benefits: 3 weeks of paid time off, 14 holidays (including shut down for 12/24-12/31), paid 30 minute lunch, $500 annually for professional development, cell phone stipend ($35 per month), laptop, flex time and remote work of up to 40%.
- Probationary Period: PTO takes effect after 90 day probationary period.
