Tell me about this role:
The Community Health Associate II (CHA II) conducts direct outreach for Cedars-Sinai Medical Center largest designated impacted communities in an effort to provide education and grow professional bonds, relationships, and sustainable advisory boards and partnerships. In this role you will providing nutrition and physical activity health education at elementary schools within the community. As the community health associate, you will be accountable for creating and integrating identified health programs while partnering with health organizations and clinical staff. Your knowledge of current community programs and resources will be instrumental in developing well-targeted and effective programs. This position, under the supervision of department management is responsible for bringing together important information, resources and evidence-based awareness and screening programs to the specific identified communities. In addition, will be responsible for data collection when necessary and will represent the department in community settings. The CHA II will also collaborate with colleagues and experts to conduct trainings in the community. Provides feedback to the director(s), principal investigators, clinicians and researchers, and/or administrators on community priorities, needs and barriers on a regular basis to help catalyze the development of research projects and needed community programs.
This is a full-time benefitted role for a limited term and is anticipated to run through May 10, 2024.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma/GED required. Bachelor's degree in nutrition, public health, community health, exercise, social science or related major preferred.
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
- Digital literacy – Solid understanding of Windows or comparable system, presentation development, email, browsers, spreadsheets, etc.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a community health setting. members of the community and/or implementing community-based programs.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience working with diverse populations preferred. Collaborating with volunteers is a plus.
- California driver's license required. Transportation resource to be able to engage on-site with community partners as needed for this role.
