GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Trust Assistant II assists customers and employees with a variety of issues related to the trust department. This position provides frontline assistance to trust department customers and assists Trust Officers with the administrative duties for trust accounts, including regular client communications.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Answer phones and greet visitors, clients, centers of influence and prospects. This duty is performed daily, about 20% of the time.
2. Completes a broad variety of administrative tasks for officers and managers. This duty is performed daily, about 25% of the time.
3. Maintaining well-organized records and account files, including scanning and filing. This duty is performed daily, about 15% of the time.
4. Maintains a very high level of confidentiality in all matters related to internal and external clients, prospects and centers of influence. This duty is performed daily, about 10% of the time.
5. Corresponds with clients, centers of influence and prospects while maintaining a professional yet personable level of communication and interaction. This duty is performed as needed, about 10% of the time.
6. Facilitate and coordinate trust marketing events as approved by the Senior Trust Officer. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.
7. Resolve customer issues/concerns with online access and trust account systems. This duty is performed daily, about 5% of the time.
8. May attend meetings with officer(s) as necessary. This duty is performed as needed, about 5% of the time.
9. Assist with special projects as assigned. This duty is performed monthly, about 5% of the time.
10. Mentor and assist Trust Assistants. This duty is performed as needed.
11. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. This duty is performed daily.
12. Complete required BSA/AML training and other compliance training as assigned. This duty is performed quarterly.
13. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Knowledge of a specialized field (however acquired), such as basic accounting, computer, etc. Equivalent of four years in high school, plus night, trade extension, or correspondence school specialized training, equal to two years of college, plus 19 to 23 months related experience and/or training, and 1 to 6 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Ability to read a limited number of words and recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers; ability to write and speak simple sentences as a means for basic communication. Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, notes, letters and memos; ability to write simple correspondence. ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions in person-to-person and small group situations with customers, clients, general public and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
