Cennox is seeking a Senior Accountant to join our growing Accounting & Finance team in New Albany, IN. This is a full-time position that offers competitive pay, great benefits, and the opportunity to be a part of our fast-growing company!
Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant will bring additional advanced knowledge and ability to our skilled accounting staff. Cennox is an international company, and applicants must be familiar with accounting across multiple entities. This candidate will be a self-starter proficient in multi-tasking who will be able to determine best practices and assist in streamlining financial operations. The candidate will have a strong accounting background with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in payroll, AP/AR, job cost accounting, month end reconciliations, and similar functions. Must be a team player who works well in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee general accounting operations by controlling and verifying financial transactions
- Reconcile account balances and bank statements, maintain general ledger, and prepare month-end close procedures
- Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Produce error-free accounting reports and present results
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
- Participate in financial standards-setting and in the forecast process
- Provide input into the department’s goal setting process
- Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
- Other duties as assigned
Skills/Requirements:
- Four-year degree in accounting or related field preferred
- Minimum of 3 year’s accounting related experience required
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and functions
- Strong Excel and analytical skills
- Great Plains experience a plus
- Must possess strong oral and written communication skills
- Must be a self-starter and team player skilled in multitasking
Salary : $65,000
