Center for Community Resources is looking for a compassionate mental health professional. Crisis Intervention services include telephone, walk-in/mobile assessment, crisis counseling, conflict resolution, referral and linking to community resources. Work in a supportive team environment while helping people access mental health & drug and alcohol services in Centre County.

The Community Based Crisis Intervention Specialist positions are an innovative approach to providing crisis services in the community. Community Based Crisis Counselors have the opportunity to work with police, schools, and other mental health providers within the community. There are also multiple opportunities to participate in community events and outreach collaborations within the county.

This is an overnight position with availability of 2-3 nights per week in the state college crisis call center. We offer an extra $0.75 hr shift differential for the evening shift and $1.50 shift differential for overnight shifts. This can be working in the crisis office and/or being on call to respond to the community. This gives you an opportunity to pick a schedule that best suits your needs/lifestyle. This creates a great work-life balance. However, you must be flexible to work weekends and holidays as crisis services are 24/7, 365 days a year.

The starting salary for this position is $18.00/hr. Crisis Counselors can work on call to respond to the community. The On-Call hourly rate is $23.00/hr and we pay a stipend of $300.00 per week when covering on call for one full week.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field. With major course work in sociology, social work, psychology, gerontology, history, criminal justice, nursing, counseling, education, theology, political science or related field AND one year experience in mental health field required.

· Associates degree in psychology/sociology or related field plus 2 years direct mental health experience.

Valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, Act 33/34 and FBI clearances will be required. Individuals who have accessed human services are encouraged to apply. EOE/ADA
