Position Summary:
Mosaic Early Learning is seeking an experienced educational professional for the Education Coordinator position. The Education Coordinator has the ability to exercise good judgment and discretion. This individual serves as a resource and trainer to center directors, classroom staff, and volunteers. They perform classroom observations monitoring the classroom activities and children's records and review and analyze data on child outcomes. The Education Coordinator also serves as classroom staff replacement as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Education Coordinator serves as a curriculum specialist and provides assistance to teachers in the implementation and adaptation of curricula and ensures that curricula used are aligned with the Mosaic Early Learning Outcomes Framework and the New Jersey early learning standards. This individual visits centers regularly and conducts classroom observations through the year. They assist teachers in observing students behavior and identifying individual and appropriate goals for each student. They review lesson plans and assist with behavior management as needed. The Education Coordinator tracks teachers' credentials to ensure compliance. They provide information to teachers on educational resources, college classes, and other professional development opportunities and, along with the Education Manager, tracks the individual professional development plan for all staff. They work with Educational Staff, Site Supervisors, and Teachers to ensure that all children receive developmental screening within 45 days of enrollment. They work with Nutrition and Health Coordinators, center staff, and Mental Health consultants to assure the results from development assessments, screenings, and evaluations are shared with parents and re-screenings, referrals, and follow up is conducted as required. They are responsible for understanding the Mosaic Early Learning Performance Standards, COA, NJ Office of Child Care licensing, NAEYC, and other applicable regulations and updating program policy and procedures to ensure compliance.
Requirements:
- BA/ECE or related field with 15 direct credits in ECE
- Master's in ECE credits/coursework in ECE and 15 in a related field preferred
- P3 certification preferred
- 2 years of experience working in a classroom setting
- Must meet current Mosaic Early Learning Current Mandates
- Maintains First Aid and CPR certifications
- Current driver's license with a good driving record of at least three years
- Vehicle with current insurance and registration
