SUMMARY
The ERSEA Specialist reports to the ERSEA / Family and Community Engagement / Program Governance Manager. In conjunction with the ERSEA / Family and Community Engagement / Program Governance Manager, the specialist collaborates with Center-Based and Home-Based staff ensuring that staff follows and reinforces Agency policies, Office of Head Start Program Performance Standards (HSPPS), and State and Federal Law.
This position will provide regular reflective supervision, coaching, observations, and feedback for staff to provide high-quality comprehensive Head Start services.
Works closely with the HS management team to ensure the provision of quality services for children and families through ongoing monitoring and program improvement process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Works collaboratively in providing support and guidance to the Center-Base Family Advocates and Home-Based Home Visitors and other staff as assigned;
Provides support and guidance with eligibility, recruitment, selection, enrollment, and attendance.
Provide support in Family and Community Engagement, including socialization, parent meetings, and child and family training.
Works independently and as part of a team; responsible for ensuring coverage of caseloads during absences and / or in case of emergencies and disasters.
Provides on-the-job onboarding and training to new and ongoing staff based on an assessment of individual staff needs and requirements.
Monitors and provides guidance on data entry, reporting, program monitoring, assessment, and improvement.
Identifies individual, Agency or systems problems that, impede service to clients and / or productive teamwork and submit recommendations for problem resolution.
Works with Head Start program management team and staff to help address identified gaps and barriers to service.
Keeps abreast of new developments in early childhood development, parent and family engagement, social services, pregnancy, and related areas.
Displays sensitivity to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomics characteristics.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
One to two years' experience in Early Head Start or related programs preferred.
Training and experience in providing / receiving Reflective Supervision preferred.
Sound organizational and time management skills to manage high and varied activity levels.
