Description
This position is responsible for completing the tasks identified under Duties and Responsibilities below as well as assisting where needed within the Finance Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Submit billing claims to funding sources on a timely basis
- Accurately recognize revenue in accounting software
- Reconcile and apply cash receipts
- Evaluate A/R balances and perform collection and rebill processes within funder timelines
- Maintain and organize remittances, including filing
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
This position requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent degree, with a Degree in the fields of Medical Billing, Health Information Management, or Medical Administrative Assistant from a college, university, or business school preferred. Related work experience with comparable responsibilities may be substituted in lieu of educational requirements. Highly proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (Pivot Tables, Formulas, Vlookups). Knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS. Medical billing experience with working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and a variety of third party payers. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Ability to prioritize duties and functions. High degree of ethics and integrity.
Work hours are between the hours of 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Schedule to be negotiated with department director. No weekend or holiday hours required. Overtime is required periodically to meet deadlines. Flexibility in meeting deadlines is necessary. This position does a majority of its work seated at a computer terminal for extended periods of time. General office setting
