Job Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION
Provides oversight and coordination of training for staff to ensure a culture of excellence and highest quality clinical services. The Clinical Training Specialist will provide consultation for process and compliance reviews for new and existing programs and processes. May facilitate or participate in strategic planning or project management activities. Assists with the organization’s quality improvement activities including incorporation of evidence based practices and ongoing program evaluation. Required to use independent thinking and decision making when performing job tasks/providing services and is expected to actively participate in variety of cross-functional teams and performance improvement initiatives.

Three years successful program/service experience
Certification/Licensure
Full-clinical licensure (counseling, social work, marriage family therapy) strongly preferred.

Assists with the organization’s quality improvement activities including incorporation of evidence based practices and ongoing program evaluation. Required to use independent thinking and decision making when performing job tasks/providing services and is expected to actively participate in variety of cross-functional teams and performance improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinates projects, planning, and training that increase access to/improve the quality of community behavioral health services.
- Supports the dissemination of information/training on evidence-based practices to provide comprehensive community-based mental and substance use disorder (SUD) services, treat co-occurring disorders (COD), and advance the integration of behavioral and physical health care.
- Coordinates activities that aid in the expansion of the Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic including, but not limited to, targeted training and program modifications. May participate as a member of other structured or ad hoc committees or work groups as requested by immediate supervisor, another Director, Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, or another member of the Chief Officer’s Team.
- Participates in periodic review and planning for risk management assessment, or other special review and plans needed as part of maintaining corporate compliance and quality improvement.
- Serves as trainer and/or back up trainer for sessions identified in new employee orientation and onboarding. Ensures appropriate content for training sessions; making updates to content as needed and/or requested.
- Based on clinical reviews and authorizations, determines training and supervision needed for staff on an individual or program level. Plans and provides training on an ongoing basis in collaboration with Program Managers and other supervisors.
- Maintains knowledge of contract and regulatory requirements for compliance. Explains these requirements to staff when necessary for compliance.
- Facilitates and/or participates in post payment and compliance site visits and audits with external contractual providers and pay sources. Assists in preparation for and facilitation of accreditation site visits as requested by supervisor.
- Researches/develops new service lines that are consistent with agency’s strategic directions. Market services in community as needed. Consult with and assist the management team with development of assigned services, and supervise the implementation, ongoing performance, and evaluation of those service areas.
- Works cooperatively with the management team to manage expenses and maintain a balanced budget for assigned services and/or locations.
- Provides support for the ongoing maintenance of clinical training within the learning management system, Relias
- Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
- Must have strong knowledge of rules and regulation that govern state services and be able to assist staff in learning the rules and regulations related to state services.
- Knowledge of guidelines for confidentiality
- Skill in customer service techniques
- Skill in problem-solving
