About the role:

As a key member of the local Leadership Team, the Controller will report to the local VP of Operations.  This position will be a key strategic role in the overall management of the company, partnering with Sales and Operations to help drive profitability.  The Controller will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling all financial-related activities of the business.  This position will provide leadership and coordination for finance, forecasting, accounting and job costing of the local business.  The position will be responsible for managing a team of approximately five people that process payroll, bill customers, pay vendors and produce monthly financial statements (these employees are already in place). 

 

Key Position Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the local leadership team to drive operational excellence and margin improvement.
  • Recruits retain and develop high performing talent.
  • Provide advice on the financial implications of business activities.
  • Provide leadership in the development and continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Ensure credibility of the corporate Finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, cash flow, financial trends, and forecasts.
  • Leverage data and analytics to create systems of accountability to better execute against company goals and critical KPIs.
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the business including the approval and processing of revenue, expenditures, budgets, forecasting and analysis.
  • Establish department standards, guidelines, objectives, and administrative processes to ensure proper planning, efficient operations, and development of a strong team.
  • Ensure effective internal controls are in place and compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.

 

Qualifications

  • BS in Accounting or Finance, an MBA and/or CPA is desirable.
  • 10 or more years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles.
  • Excellent skills with MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint and related software.  Not dependent on others to produce documents and spreadsheets.
