Overview:
The Page Wide Web Press business of Client designs, builds, ships, and installs large, complex inkjet printing presses to print service provider customers. This Logistics Planner/Coordinator role is responsible for planning and managing the shipping of various hardware products to customers around the world, including conducting the necessary inventory system transactions (SAP), planning the shipments from each shipping point, selecting the best mode of transportation based on cost and transit time, and to book the chosen mode of transportation.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the shipment planning for press installations and field upgrades of complex hardware to customer sites.Submit procurement requests for specific materials needed for the installations.

Ensure that any no-charge items or non-BOM materials are pulled from the warehouse.
Coordinate having all the materials ready in time for the shipment to support the planned installation start date.
Create the shipping requests foreach required shipment.
For Corvallis outbound, order the crating for the shipments with the local crating supplier and follow up to ensure it is complete in time for the shipment, as needed.
Ensure shipments are properly labeled.
Complete necessary inventory transactions in SAP (PGI, Deliveries).
Review shipping paperwork for accuracy and completeness.
Confirm shipment is arranged for pickup and delivery.
Provide ship status to the project manager of the installation project.
Provide follow-up for shipping failures, missing items, and other issues that arise which prevent the installation of the upgrade from staying on schedule.

• Support one-off shipping requests as needed (e.g., special, urgent shipments for installations; returns from customer sites; etc.).
• Lead appropriate “all-hands-on-deck” meetings for projects that have accelerated time-lines to ensure all team members understand the requirements.
• Initiate exception requests, as required, when logistics processes need to move forward, and the requirements are not in place to allow normal process.
• Represent logistics processes in project meetings, such as lead time and requirements expected for a smooth delivery to the customer site.
• Lead continuous process improvement efforts in the logistics planning and management processes.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience with Logistics processes and linkages to systems transactions (physical flow with system flow)
• Knowledge of incoterms
• Knowledge of using an inventory management or ERP system (SAP experienced preferred) for transactions required to support a shipment
• Sound attention to detail
• Strong spreadsheet skills for analysis and reporting
• Ability to work independently, but also to collaborate effectively with a team
• Ability to multi-task and adapt to change to work through changing priorities
• Skilled at communicating complex information in clear manner
• Desired - Four-year college degree in business or related field
