Forecasting and Planning Manager – Salina, KS
Great Plains Manufacturing is seeking a Forecasting and Planning Manager to join our team in Salina, KS. This position leads processes of gathering and consolidation of forecasts for all Great Plains Ag wholegoods and parts for Domestic and International regions. Additionally, the role leads the coordination between Great Plains Ag sales leadership and site production planning teams to drive the annual production schedule.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive quarterly forecasting consolidation and review process with all sales regions and controller.
- Coordinate Sales and Operation Planning via monthly SOP process for Ag Division Domestic and International.
- Lead the production schedule, being the point person between internal sales management, Ag Division Domestic and International Sales Management and manufacturing to facilitate the forecasted monthly build requirements. Negotiate the balance between customer requests for orders and the needs of manufacturing.
- Provide advice and evaluation of Domestic and International Sales Programs and product pricing with and balance sales volume needs with bottom line success. Review and evaluate competitive pricing comparisons.
- Participate in the monthly GP Ag Division service meeting, maintaining awareness of service issues and assisting with development of plans that are both customers focused and cost effective.
- Conduct detailed analysis of market trends and provide insights to Division management as to product opportunities and risks.
- Coordinate product mix strategy with Division Controller to ensure overall profit targets are maximized.
- Provide input and support for Ag Division Domestic and International business planning.
- Lean initiatives-support lean initiatives as assigned to improve production planning and production efficiency through more effective product flow.
- Assist with special projects as they develop.
- Other duties may be assigned that require other qualifications, physical demands, and/or work environment.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing production coordination, planning and supervision
- Ability to analyze data and communicate recommendations
- Understanding of basic production planning and flow definition
- Understanding of ag market and seasonal fluctuations and needs
- Proficient in MS Office; intermediate-to-expert level in Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to manage large and complex excel spreadsheets
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
