As a Personal Lines Staff Underwriter, you will help play a critical role for the Underwriting department, using your technical underwriting ability to drive underwriting excellence and support our regional underwriting teams. How You’ll make an Impact Collaborating with regional underwriting teams on complex risks Displaying critical thinking and evaluation skills when researching and responding to inquiries and referrals Acting as a subject matter expert for a line of business Completing training assignments for internal and external personnel Analyzing books of business and making recommendations for improvement Designing, publishing, and maintaining underwriting guidance in assigned areas Managing 3rd party vendor products and relationships as assigned Researching, analyzing and developing solutions for assigned projects Auditing books of business and individual underwriting files to ensure compliance with company strategy What You’ll Bring Strong analytical capabilities, excel at leveraging quantitative data to drive decisions Possess the ability to use proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders    Preferred: Minimum of 5 years of Personal Lines Underwriting experience Bachelor’s degree Ability to synthesize data and effectively present the recommendations Self-motivated team player with ability to prioritize work and drive projects Strong organizational, management, and problem solving skills Flexible approach to new projects, requirements, and workplace demands
