GENERAL SUMMARY
The Transportation Manager position is responsible for the safety, customer service, receiving, warehousing, and distribution services of the Monroe & Baton Rouge Facility
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily drivers stand up meetings: review route, load sheets, address any outstanding issues drivers may have
Trains all new Lube & Used Oil Drivers for Monroe & Baton Rouge (Fuel Drivers to be added at later date)
Work with our DOT compliance officer on random drug/alcohol testing
Checks daily DOT drivers logs & DVIR, monitor E-logs, transportation efficiency reporting, route vs. actual review, DOT hours vs. ADP hours
Safeguards operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols
Manages and controls Over Time hours for Lube Drivers
Driver supply management including order forms, ordering supplies, etc. Manage driver cleaning/upkeep schedule for employees (rotate duties).
Attend to any maintenance issues for Trucks, Including PM and submitting odometer readings for leased equipment.
Provide support for PTO for direct reports
Manage used oil pickup schedule
Hire, Fire, evaluate performance, approve PTO and train drivers.
QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to work in cold & hot temperatures. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and climbing all day. This position may also be required to lift or move items up to 35 pounds.
