Central Ozarks Medical Center (COMC) is excited to announce an opening for a chief Dental Officer! this position may operate out of any of Camdenton, Richland, or Laurie Missouri.
COMC is a Missouri non-profit, federally qualified health center that has served Pulaski, Laclede, Camden and Miller counties for over 40 years. Responsibilities: Consistent with COMC’s goals and objectives as defined by the Board of Directors, the Chief Dental Officer will provide comprehensive dental health care to all patients within the limitations of the facility’s space, equipment, and support personnel. Will work as an integral part of the Management Team to ensure a quality oriented Dental Program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Primary responsibility of managing the health center’s Dental department to provide safe, effective services to the public.
· Train new dentists on the facility's policies and procedures and keep current dental staff up to date on changing dental regulations.
· Attend health center meetings and staff events as required
· Supervises dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants and oversees departmental patient care.
· Participate in all COMC Quality Improvement policies and activities.
· Provide examinations, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of dental patients.
· Implement and participate in dental programs consistent with COMC’s goals and objectives.
· Develop and update patient care protocols.
· Prepare monthly provider schedule to assure adequate coverage for Clinic hours.
· Recommend changes in dental policies to the CEO.
· Recommend dental supply and equipment purchases.
· Plan and conduct regular monthly dental staff meetings.
· Attend Board of Directors meetings as required to provide feedback about the dental department’s performance. Brings concerns, requests, and problems as necessary.
· Maintain adequate and properly documented patient records.
· Participate in dental audits as required.
· Assure dental staff compliance with accepted infection control policies.
· Responsible for the verbal and written evaluation of dental staff member’s work performance.
· Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Qualifications Requirements:
Education and/or experience: Must have received a D.M.D. or D.D.S. from an accredited dental school. Must be currently licensed in Missouri to practice dentistry without restrictions. Board certification required. Supervisory experience preferred.
Language Skills: Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies, when necessary. Ability to effectively present information to top management and the Board of Directors.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with accounting concepts.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Other Skills and Abilities: Excellent customer service skills.
Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This includes moderate physical effort consisting of occasionally lifting or moving over 35 pounds of weight.
Travel Requirement: To fulfill the responsibility of the position travel to all COMC locations may be required. Employee must have valid Missouri driver’s license and availability of a motor vehicle. Overnight travel may also be required in specific incidences of training, conferences, etc.
