Job Title: Development Coordinator, Database and Analytics

Location: Central Pennsylvania Food Bank – Harrisburg or Williamsport, PA

Reporting Relationship: Senior Development Manager, Operations and Analytics


Position Summary: Reporting to the Senior Development Manager, Operations and Analytics, this position assists with the coordination and day-to-day oversight of the Raiser’s Edge database for the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank Development department. The Database Coordinator, Operations and Analytics, is responsible for database management with the knowledge of importing, running queries/reports, and supporting our Raiser’s Edge Database on a day-to-day basis.

Job Accountabilities

  • Maintain data in Raiser’s Edge (RE).
  • Assist with and monitor the gift entry process, including bulk import of gifts and individual gift entry.
  • Participate in evaluations and decisions regarding the most effective way to input information into RE.
  • Under the guidance of the Senior Development Manager, Operations and Analytics, produce mailing lists for direct mail campaigns.
  • Troubleshoot mailing and other lists produced from Raiser’s Edge.
  • Run existing reports upon request.
  • Analyze existing reports prior to distribution to ensure accuracy and identify inaccuracies
  • Assist Senior Development Manager, Operations and Analytics in supporting departmental data initiatives.
  • Participate in internal committees and workgroups as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

Education: Successful completion of a diploma or GED from an accredited high school. College education and/or additional training and certifications are a plus.

Experience:

  • Two years’ previous experience working in a fundraising department, non-profit organization.
  • Experience as a Database Administrator or relevant experience.
  • Motivated and a self-starter.

  • Exhibit strong interpersonal, problem solving, team building, program management and administrative skills.
  • Must be positive, cooperative, honest and dependable.
  • Must have base knowledge of philanthropic community and fundraising.
  • Must possess strong problem-solving and project management skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of database software; high level of technological proficiency required. Must be able to manipulate large quantities of data accurately.
  • Must possess strong critical thinking skills and recognize opportunities for improvement in the completion of tasks and projects.
  • Ability to attend departmental and all-staff meetings as directed, staying informed of ongoing changes in department and overall organization.
  • Knowledge of organization’s computer software and systems, including Microsoft Office Suite, department-specific software systems, telecommunications, and internet applications.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (machines, tools, and devices) used in performing only the essential function include computer and related equipment, calculator, photocopier, fax machine, and telephone.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Physical Requirements or Licenses:

  • The position has the ability to work remote, in-office or hybrid at the discretion of the Director of Development or based on the needs of the organization. The nature of this position will require periodic onsite work at the office location.
  • A valid driver’s license with history of a good driving record.
  • Ability to travel that may include consecutive overnight stays, and traveling by car, bus, and airplane.
  • Conditions may include working outside in inclement weather, working closely with others, working alone, and working protracted or irregular hours.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 15 pounds.
  • The work environment is typically quiet.

This position’s workload can be handled remotely. Applicants should be able to commute to one of the Food Bank’s three facilities for in-person activities and meetings.
