As a Scientist in Sample Management and Reporting in Soil and Groundwater Operations you will provide analytical support for a wide range of environmental projects to include:
- Review and assist with development of quality assurance project plan chapters for sampling and analysis plans.
- Participate in DOE Consolidated Audit Program audits of CPCCo subcontracted analytical laboratories.
- Provide oversight on quality of data from subcontracted analytical laboratories to assure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Perform data quality usability assessments for various CPCCo projects.
- Resolve analytical data problems in concert with project scientists and analytical laboratories.
- Act as interface between projects, analytical laboratories, sampling teams, and Sample Management & Reporting (SMR) support staff.
- Develop, update, and maintain various SMR procedures.
- Represent CPCCo at Hanford Analytical Services Quality Assurance Requirements Document (HASQARD) focus group meetings.
- Perform and/or oversee data verification of data packages.
Basic Qualifications
* BS/BA degree in chemistry, biology, geology or related scientific field plus a minimum of 6 years related job experience.
- US Citizen.
- CPCCo employees are required to attest to and provide verification that they are fully vaccinated.
Desired Qualifications
* Experience with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) analytical quality assurance and quality control requirements.
- Familiarity with radiochemistry methods.
- Hands-on analytical chemistry experience with various types of spectroscopy, chromatography, or spectrometry.
- Experience in the DOE complex
- Experience with working collaboratively as a team member or team leader.
- Experience with Microsoft office products.
- Familiar with DOE/Hanford, ISO 17025, and National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference (NELAC) analytical and quality assurance requirements.
- Experience using complex software applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with querying databases to obtain information
- Experience using complex software applications
- Experience with EPA data validation review
