Regional Health and Safety Coordinator

Job Duties:

• Implements and maintains corporate safety programs to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and/or company policy.
• Developing, distributing and presenting educational materials.
• Inspecting company facilities and recommending risk/hazard mitigation/correction measures necessary to achieve compliance.
• Accident investigations, annual safety audits and facility inspections.
• Conduct employee and supervisory safety training.
• New Team Member orientation safety training as required.

• Ensuring compliance is maintained with company safety programs through documentation and checklists of observations and/or findings.
• Near-miss reporting of safety-related incidents.
• Identification of potential safety hazards and mitigating/abating procedures.
• Peer evaluation of safe behaviors.

Work Environment:

• Work in indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including extreme hot or cold temperatures.
• Work near moving machinery and equipment - could include electrical hazards.
• Work in a noisy environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Carrying/Lifting 10 - 40 Pounds occasionally.
• Carrying/Lifting > 40 Pounds occasionally.
• Standing / Walking / Climbing.
• Squatting/Crouching/Kneeling/Bending.
• Pushing / Pulling / Reaching Above Shoulder.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety.

• Presentation skills to Plant Management and other Team Members.
• Effective problem resolution and negotiation skills.
• Experience in
  analysis and interpretation of regulatory law and guidance coordinated with developing options to implement regulatory law and guidance to various operating environments.
• Experience in process improvement/coordination.
• Work independently, with little supervision.
