Central Steel Building Systems is a leading manufacturer and installer of pre-engineered metal buildings in the southeastern US and one of the largest employers in Jefferson County. Since our business was acquired by a larger national platform earlier this year, our new owner has been making huge investments in new equipment and updating our 80,000 square-foot factory.

With these investments, we're on a rapid growth trajectory and are scouting for the right people to join our fast-paced, entrepreneurial organization outside Augusta, GA. We’re looking for an experienced controller or other finance and accounting professional to manage our portfolio of companies (across sales, manufacturing, equipment leasing and construction services). As we continue to expand, you would manage a team with professionals in both Georgia and Philadelphia (travel not necessary).

Your New Role:

• Prepare and manage financial reporting, including monthly statements for management
• Manage AR/AP, including processing of invoices
• Monthly reconciliation of bank accounts
• Set up and maintain relationships with all vendors (including W-9s and certificates of insurances, as needed)
• Collaborate with plant manager to approve and execute payroll each week (currently using Paychex platform)
• Maintain insurance records and facilitate employee on-boarding (integrated with Paychex)
• Sales tax reporting to Georgia and other states where nexus is met
• Maintain vehicle registrations with the state of GA for our fleet of vehicles and trailers
• Other duties as needed

Your Qualifications:

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in accounting or advanced bookkeeping role
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
• Accounting software knowledge preferred. We’re currently on SAGE, but are planning to transition to a new platform at end-of-year. (You would be a key part of decision and roll-out.)
• Construction or manufacturing accounting experience preferred, but not required
• Experience managing accounting books for 3-5 related companies concurrently preferred, but not required
• Proficient in Excel and Word
• Excellent communication skills a must, as this role will interface both with internal staff and customers
• Must have ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks, work efficiently with minimal supervision and be detail oriented
