Job Summary and Scope of Responsibility: Manage a region of community banking centers. Develop and implement strategies and action plans to enhance customer and community relationships, performance and productivity.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to the assigned units to ensure industry leading performance in the areas of customer service, operations, personnel, compliance and profitability.
  • Develop strategies and implement appropriate action plans that promote performance in alignment with the Bank’s business objectives and reduce or eliminate the impact of any deficiencies, problems and conflicts.
  • Assist with training and facilitating team meetings that align with the Bank’s strategic plan and initiatives.
  • Design, implement and monitor the effectiveness of sales metrics and measures that encourage awareness of and ensure accountability for sales goals including loans, deposits and non-interest income.
  • Direct and monitor the resolution of escalated customer service or transaction issues. Review customer satisfaction survey results and implement action plans as needed.
  • Direct and monitor the response to findings of policy and/or procedure violations or unsatisfactory audits.
  • Monitor region facilities and safety and security practices. Develop and implement appropriate action plans to resolve deficiencies.
  • Direct the investigation of escalated employee performance concerns. Guide the development of and monitor performance improvement plans.
  • Attend community events and serve in leadership roles, as appropriate, to establish and maintain strong relationships with community leaders and members.
  • Identify and troubleshoot barriers to optimal performance and communication. Develop, implement and monitor appropriate interventions.
  • Promote timely and affective communication between assigned branches and support departments.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong sales and business development skills.
  • Knowledge of sales plan design features, ability to identify and articulate appropriate measures and controls.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all retail banking products and services – ability to interpret and apply applicable banking regulations and policies.
  • Knowledge of core banking systems and related applications.
  • Strong customer and community orientation.
  • Effective business writing skills.
  • Highly effective and professional oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional, results-oriented managerial and team leadership skills.
  • Excellent judgment, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong administration organizational and administrative skills with ability to successfully manage multiple, time-sensitive projects and commitments.
  • Strong meeting and event facilitation skills.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain required licenses, registrations or certifications.
  • PC and internet navigation proficiency, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Proficiency at speaking, reading and writing English.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions independently, under minimal supervision


Experience and/or Education:

  • Five years of experience managing a large or complex community banking branch or multiple branches
  • Five years of experience managing team members
  • Effective mentoring and skill development abilities
  • Coursework in negotiation or arbitration, preferred.


Travel/Physical Demands:

  • Ability and willingness to travel frequently within market area (60-70%).
  • Ability to travel to client and business event locations (driving requires continuous possession of a valid driver’s license and the minimum level of auto insurance).
