POSITION: Operations Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
TYPE: Regular Full Time
Job Summary:
The Operations Supervisor must act as a mentor and positive role model to all employees. The Operations Supervisor will perform daily operations support functions while overseeing assigned EMTs and Paramedics at their designated station. Operations Supervisors must be flexible and must be available to work a schedule that meets the needs of the Company.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Mentors assigned new hires throughout their orientation and probationary periods.
- Monitors and documents the progress of their assigned new hires to make sure they are progressing well throughout our training and orientation process.
- Partners with the Operations Manager to provide a positive and safe work environment for employees.
- Supervises employees at their assigned station; Monitors employee job performance; Provides performance coaching (teachable moments); Identifies employees in need of additional or remedial training and partners with the training department for assistance
- Meets with employees to discuss performance concerns; administers corrective action in conjunction with the Operations Manager
- Works with fleet maintenance to ensure proper vehicle safety and maintenance for assigned units; Reports all safety concerns to Operations Manager
- Assist with staffing and administrative duties as assigned
- Monitors and orders vehicle and station supplies
- Maintains all items related to repair and keeps good order of their assigned station(s)
- Attends local EMS and other meetings as assigned
- Represents CAS at county level EOC as assigned
- Performs special projects as assigned
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the station
- Performs State and Drug Box Inventories as directed.
- Assist with station inventories as needed
- Answers email of missing paperwork -Check units for missing paperwork and email group with findings.
- Assists in facilitating preventive maintenance on vehicles.
- Receives, inspects, conducts inventory, and delivers/issues supplies and equipment.
- Make and maintain an ample inventory.
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1-year field experience
- Valid and clear FL State EMT or Paramedic License
- Knowledge of EMS agency rules, regulations, and protocols.
- Possess Incident Command Structure courses 100, 200, 700, 800
- Solid working knowledge of all Company operations policies and protocols
- Intermediate level with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiar with the geographic region
- AS or AA degree
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an EMT or Paramedic
Physical Demands:Must be able to perform the following tasks
- Run - infrequently, 1-2 minutes per day
- · Walk - frequently, up to 6 hours per day
- Stand - frequently, up to 6 hours per day
- Sit - frequently, up to 8 hours per day
- Kneel - frequently, 10-16 times per day
- Bend - frequently, 10-16 times per day
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, carry 250 Lbs. infrequently (1-4 times per shift)
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, carry 150 Lbs. frequently (6-12 times per shift)·
- Must have ability to step up and/ or climb over obstacles.
- Must be able to climb stairs while carrying up to 250 lbs
- Must have adequate hearing acuity to perform job tasks
- Must have adequate vision (with corrective lenses if needed) to clearly distinguish colors, shapes, distances, etc.
- Must have adequate hand/finger dexterity to grip and hold both large and small items
- Must have adequate hand and arm strength to grip and lift heavy objects
- Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously
- Collect, interpret, and/or analyze complex data and information
- Utilize fine motor coordination, clear speech, and good visual acuity
Work Environment:
- Required to work on ambulance as a crew member, dependent on station and location
- Required to work up to 25% in the office on administrative tasks
- Must be able to tolerate work in an outdoor environment (heat, cold, rain, etc.)
