CMMI Process Improvement Specialist

Cepeda Systems and Software Analysis of Huntsville, AL, a rapidly growing small company, is hiring a part-time CMMI Process Improvement Specialist with a minimum of 8 years' experience developing and implementing processes and process assets.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Participate in CMMI-based process improvement activities to develop, maintain, and improve organizational and project processes and work products
• Serve as coach/mentor to provide process implementation, tailoring guidance, and training
• Assess software lifecycle activities to confirm validity of approach with respect to organizational objectives
• Assist organizations in identifying CMMI compliance gaps and providing a recommended course of action
• Participate as a team member to prepare for and conduct CMMI Appraisals
• Plan and conduct process and work product audits

Requirements and Qualifications:

• US Citizenship required
• B.S. in Software/Systems Engineering or related area from an accredited college or university (degree equivalency allowed)
• 10 years' experience developing and implementing processes and process assets
• 9 years' experience working with and implementing software/system engineering lifecycle solutions
• 5 years' experience working with CMMI, including a minimum of 1 year experience with CMMI 2.0
• Understanding of software and systems engineering
• CMMI 2.0 (Development and Services)
• Ability to effectively communicate and work with engineering and management personnel
• Ability to work as part of a team or solo to lead successful completion of assigned tasks
• Organized individual with problem solving abilities
• Excellent organizational skills
• Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written)
• Good facilitation skills

Preferred Experience and Knowledge:

• Participation in CMMI appraisal planning/implementation activities preferred
• CMMI Associate or CMMI Professional Certification
