What are the responsibilities and job description for the Logistics Planning Consultant position at CGN Global?
Job Responsibilities:
- Work to ensure material is shipped, received, stored or delivered quickly and efficiently
- Manage and improve inbound and outbound material flow and participate on improvement projects covering related process areas
- Manage and resolve transportation issues, filing carrier loss and damaged freight claims, and resolving freight noncompliance issues
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to the facility; collaborate with suppliers to coordinate with suppliers, operations production and customers to discuss delivery of material for machine and assembly lines, quality problems, and alternate methods of manufacturing
- Analyze established part schedules and production requirements, converting requirements into appropriate piece parts, requisitioning the materials and regulating inventory levels
- Responsible for optimizing material flow throughout the plant site, ensuring availability of needed resources
- Build lean supply chain capability in the areas of material replenishment to facilities
Skills:
- Knowledge or experience in procurement, logistics, distribution, quality controls, strategic planning, production methods, resource allocation, and manufacturing processes is required
- Knowledge or experience in operations, inventory management, demand planning, supply chain planning and transportation management is preferred
- Possess technical and analytical skills with focus on data analysis and decision support tools
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational & leadership skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
Education:
- Bachelors or Master's degree in Human Resources, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Transportation Management or related field
