Summary:
We’re a growing Plaintiff's firm that handles a wide range of injury and wrongful death cases, including car, motorcycle, and big truck wrecks.
We seek highly motivated, reliable, productive Pre-Lit and Litigation Paralegals who will help clients navigate the complex legal system by providing support and assistance.
We have opportunities in our College Station, Lubbock, or Midland, TX office.
Responsibilities - Pre-Litigation:
· Assist attorneys with all aspects of case management, including deadlines, Settlement Disbursal Statements, and recommendations for cost and time- effective ways to accomplish the client's needs
· Manage timelines and deadlines of each of your assigned cases
· Work on each case quickly and efficiently, along with the attorney, from beginning to end
· Meet with new and existing clients
· Draft legal documents, including pleas and motions for attorney review
· Identify issues and solve problems quickly
· Communicate with clients and insurance adjusters regularly
· Communicate effectively with our internal records specialists and investigators to ensure the correct and complete investigative and medical records are obtained in a timely manner
· Enter detailed notes and keep cases updated in our case management system, Litify
Responsibilities - Litigation:
- Assist attorneys with all aspects of case management, including deadlines, Resolution Disbursal Statements, and recommendations for cost and time
- Manage timelines and deadlines of assigned cases
- Meet with new and existing clients to discuss case expectations and provide updates
- Draft legal documents for attorney review
- Draft pleading, motions, and responses
- Communicate regularly with clients, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and other case related parties
- Communicate effectively with our internal records specialists and investigators to ensure the correct and complete investigative and medical records are obtained in a timely manner
- Review cases’ medical records and assemble files
- Prepare and submit correspondence
- Enter detailed notes and keep cases updated in case management system (CMS)
- Redact records
- Propound discovery; assist with shell
- e-File
- Schedule depositions, trials, and hearings; coordinate with client
- Trial prep, exhibits, motions, evidence, experts, etc.
Minimum Qualifications for Pre-Litigation:
· High school diploma or equivalent with at least 1-year experience as an insurance adjuster, legal assistant, legal secretary, paralegal, case management, or project management OR
· Bachelor's degree with 2 years of relevant experience
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
· Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and adapt quickly to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment and meet all deadlines
· Excellent organizational and communication skills
· Positive attitude and self-starter
· Bilingual
