What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Writer (Full-Time) position at Champions School of Real Estate?
Champions School of Real Estate is seeking an experienced full-time Technical Writer, who is a highly motivated self-starter, to work at our Houston Galleria Campus. This individual will collaborate with team members to create real estate education course materials, textbook development, data collection, organize research data, assist with the layout of textbooks/materials, organize, and create a file system for books, edit, proofread, place graphic elements in materials, maintain a database of content, and verify data is backed up and stored on a regular basis.
This candidate must be able to pick up new technologies quickly, meet deadlines, work in a collaborative environment, and manage a wide range of diverse projects.
Requirements/Skills:
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator
- Excellent English writing, copy editing, proofreading, and question-writing skills
- Proficient in the use of Adobe InDesign, or similar professional desktop publishing software
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Superior communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
- Maintain layout of books in accordance with company templates
- Review, edit, correct, and maintain textbooks or other course materials utilizing Adobe InDesign and proprietary databases
- Experience in data collection (independent research), analysis, and synthesis
- Perform research to determine statutory requirements for providers in target states
- Proficient in the use of Articulate Storyline or similar course development software
- Obtain and organize permission from holders of copyrighted information used in books
- Complete forms and monitor progress of provider applications in new markets
- Ability to collaborate with team members on various projects and tasks
- Understanding of adult learning process
- Industry experience (real estate, loan origination, appraisal, or inspection), a plus
- Exceptional project management skills and able to meet deadlines
- Professional appearance
- Stable work history and dependable
Required Work Schedule:
- Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Candidates will work at campus location)
